On the very day she began her studies at drama school Alison became the Lady Champion of the British Long Bow Society, a position she held for four years.

Whilst at drama school her combat abilities were spotted and she began to train to be a Fight Director.

Whilst serving her Apprenticeship with a Fight Director Alison won the backing of the Princes Youth Business Trust to form the 1st ever professional stage fighting theatre company, which she called Hellraisers. Hellraisers provided historical locations around the country with historically accurate fights performed by professional actors who were highly qualified in stage combat.

Alison became the ‘Fight Master’ at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, holding the position for ten years until its closure. During this time Alison finally succeeded in achieving membership of the Equity Fight Director’s Register, at which point archery began to take a back seat as combat (and marriage) began to take over her life.
